BusinessWire.Com Now Available in Seven Languages with the Addition of Japanese
The move is in step with Business Wire's commitment to provide front-line support and service to its expanding global client base. Business Wire's site is now available in seven languages: French, English, German, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish and Japanese. Business Wire's transformation into the commercial news industry's leading global service provider is further evidenced by two related developments. Japanese-language releases are now being posted on businesswire.com, the 14th language available to site visitors, who are able to self-select their language of choice. In addition, journalists are able to receive customized newsfeeds in their designated language by registering for BW PressPass, Business Wire's personalized delivery vehicle for the media community. Currently, tens of thousands of journalists worldwide subscribe to this free service. Other language options include: simplified and traditional Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, and Danish. Business Wire will shortly begin transmitting multilingual releases--simultaneously and in real-time--via its proprietary "NX" technology, which is rapidly gaining acceptance as the news industry standard. Beta testing is currently underway with major international news organizations. Clients will soon be able to take advantage of Business Wire's state-of-the-art NewsML-based delivery platform to send multiple language versions of their news release--accompanied by multimedia elements--to news organizations and other key audiences worldwide. "Business Wire is being very proactive in responding to the many opportunities for growth in the global marketplace," said Cathy Baron Tamraz, president. "Our goal is to familiarize clients with our range of products and services, and to help them make informed decisions based on their specific needs" The new Japanese web site supports Business Wire's recent opening of a full-service bureau in Tokyo, which is designed to serve as an operational hub for a planned satellite network of sales offices throughout the Asia Pacific (ASPI.BO, news) region. Business Wire also has announced a sales collaboration agreement with Nikkei BP Ad Partners, which is affiliated with Japan's largest publisher and content provider. About Business Wire: Business Wire was founded in 1961 by chairman/CEO Lorry I. Lokey, veteran journalist and public relations executive.
