Amazon's Former Chief Scientist Joins MusicStrands as Chief Strategist

Biography of Andreas Weigend, Chief Strategist of MusicStrands Dr. Andreas Weigend's past experience includes: former Chief Scientist of Amazon.com, co-founder of MoodLogic and strategic consultant for leading companies in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. He teaches at Stanford University and executive courses in China. His career as a scientist and business innovator enables him to successfully bridge the gap between industry and academia. As Amazon.com's Chief Scientist, he directed research in data mining, customer behavior, and social network analysis. Until 1999, he was full-time faculty at New York University's Stern School of Business. He has published more than one hundred scientific papers and six books, and received an IBM Partnership Award and a National Science Foundation Career Award. He studied physics, electrical engineering, and philosophy in Germany and Cambridge (UK), and received his Ph.D. from Stanford University.
