|
New Delhi, Delhi, India, Friday, December 15, 2006 -- (Business Wire India) -- The Great Indian Road Trip—xBhp.com’s nationwide biking tour spread over 20000 km, 110 days, 570 cities across 26 states—today ended with four bikers zipping into New Delhi in the early hours of the morning. The Great Indian Road Trip was flagged off from Delhi on 15th August in an event that attracted huge attendance of biking enthusiasts. xBhp.com, backed by its principal sponsor Castrol Power1 and a host of other sponsors, had undertaken an ambitious road trip through the length and breadth of India on bikes and motoscooters. Conceived by xbhp.com, which is India’s largest pan – India biking community, the Great Indian Road Trip will continue to be the envy as well as the pride of every passionate biker.
The aim was to undertake the most radical pan-India road trip ever conceived. It was an expression of freedom and the spirit of adventure. This trip was not just about the thrill of traveling around India on motorbikes but about discovering new routes, the surreal experiences, interacting with strangers, and above all appreciating the diversity and beauty of India. This trip has brought together all this and has preserved the memories in the form of thousands of visuals and videos, to be converted into a coffee-table book & an online repository of information that could become a treasure for travelers and explorers of India.
xBhp.com is a pan - India non profit biking community with thousands of members. The road trip has been done on India’s most exciting bikes - the Comet 250, Kinetic Italiano Jupiter and Kinetic Italiano Blaze, as well as a super bike - the Fireblade CBR 1000-RR. All bikes have been running on Castrol Power1 engine oil - a top grade bike lubricant specially engineered to meet the high performance requirements of latest 4 stroke bikes.
Commenting on the conclusion of the Great Indian Road Trip, Mr. Saugata Basuray, Marketing Manager, Castrol India Ltd., the main sponsor of the trip said, “The Great Indian Road Trip was an expression of freedom and the spirit of adventure. Above all it is a manifestation of the spirit of biking. Given Castrol’s passion for performance and long association with major automotive achievements across the world, it was only natural that Castrol Power1 to associate and support an initiative like this. As a global brand with a 100-year history, we are constantly looking to engage with the biking community and share our technological edge and long association with motor sport. We will encourage and continue to support Indian youth as they aspire to achieve excellence in the pursuit of competitive and adventure sports”.
“It has been a fascinating journey for us and we return with unforgettable memories and priceless experiences. The Great Indian Road Trip that began as a dream has today become the envy of many people across the nation - bikers and non bikers alike. A feeling of exhilaration and triumph settles over us as we ride back home only to dream and conceive more daring trips like this in the future. What has fuelled the success of this trip is the support of Castrol Power1. Castrol Power 1 in our bikes ensured that our bikes performed at peak operating conditions all throughout this 20,000 KM saga. Given our stupendous experience with Castrol Power1, it will continue to be our natural choice in the future as well.”, according to Sundeep Gajjar, Head Convener, xBhp.com
