Satyam Computer in aviation services alliance

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Satyam Computer Services Ltd, India's No. 4 software exporter, said on Wednesday it had signed an agreement with U.S.-based Infospectrum to provide services for the aviation industry.

Satyam will provide services to operators and providers of maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities (MRO), as well as components repairs, it said. Infospectrum already provides solutions to the aviation, aerospace and defence industries.

No financial details were provided.

Indian software firms are increasingly tapping segments such as manufacturing, retail and aviation as they diversify their revenue base away from banks and financial services firms, which have been battered by the U.S. subprime crisis.

Aircraft maker Boeing has ventures with India's Wipro Ltd, HCL Technologies and Tata Industries, a unit of the Tata Group which controls top software services exporter Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.
