BSE Sensex provisionally closes 0.9 pct lower

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - The BSE Sensex (^BSESN : 16158.28 +94.38) index provisionally fell 0.91 percent on Wednesday, amid worries over a deteriorating world economy and uncertain fund flow outlook.

The 30-share main BSE index provisionally lost 87.90 points to 9,598.85, with 25 components in red.

Satyam (SATYAM.BO : 103.35 +0.7) recovered most of its early losses to provisionally close 1.1 percent lower, having tumbled as much as 18.3 percent earlier. For related story, see:

The 50-share NSE (^NSEI : 4796.15 +30.6) index provisionally shed 1.35 percent to 2,928.70.
