Swiss flies into India market again

Mumbai, Aug. 21 -- Swiss is making a new beginning in India with the introduction of premium first class service of brand new planes. It is investing on premium classes when other airlines are replacing their premium classes with cheaper economy class offerings. The airline has decided to replace its decade old ten A 330-200 aircraft in its fleet with nine fuel-efficient brand new A330-300 aircraft by 2011 with an investment of over $1 billion (over Rs 4870 crore). "This is a testimony of our commitment and loyalty to the Indian market. We firmly believe that this market has the potential to avail our premium product. Now we are flying five times a week each from Mumbai and Delhi. Our objective is to get back to seven flights a week," said Holger Hatty, CCO, Swiss.
