Sensex ends flat

Equity indices on Thursday closed with minimal gains on the last day of the expiry of futures and option for the month of August. The 30-share Sensex (^BSESN : 16632.01 -222.92) of Bombay Stock Exchange added 11.22 points or 0.07% to end the day at 15,781.07 points. The broader SandP CNX Nifty (^NSEI : 4941.75 -63.8) of the National Stock Exchange gained 7.35 points or 0.16% to close the day at 4,688.20 points. Dealers in the market said despite the markets closing in green, huge volatility was witnessed throughout the trading session. Apart from that, foreign institutional investors were sellers in the market, while some buying was seen by domestic institutional investors.
