Gopinath may exit kingfisher airlines soon

New Delhi, Oct. 20 -- GR Gopinath, known as the father of low-cost airline in the country, is expected to exit Kingfisher Airlines soon.

He now hold just 0.32 per cent share in the airline, a far cry from the 5 per cent that he held when Deccan was merged with Kingfisher.

When contacted, a spokesperson of Deccan 360, the logistics company that Gopinath now heads, said he has been regularly offloading his Kingfisher equity after the lock-in period ended, and the proceeds are being used for Deccan 360. Gopinath could not be contacted despite several attempts.
