BSE Sensex falls to two-month low
MUMBAI (Reuters) – The BSE Sensex (^BSESN : 16632.01 -222.92
) fell below 15,500 on Tuesday for the first time since Sept. 4, extending losses to more than 2.5 percent on the day as energy giant Reliance Industries (RELIANCE.NS : 1045.95 -17.8
) tumbled.
At 3:03 p.m. (0933 GMT), the 30-share BSE index was down 2.56 percent at 15,489.38 points, with 26 components in the red.
Reliance Industries was down 5.4 percent at 1,827 rupees.
The 50-share NSE (^NSEI : 4941.75 -63.8
) index was down 2.71 percent at 4,584.20.
