Apropos the article PM writes to widow, promises greater sensitivity (FE, Nov 5), it is a fine gesture by the Prime Minister and should inspire others to show similar sensitivity. We may not have correct statistics, but we know that such cases frequently happen because of traffic jams, political and religious processions, blocked roads, bandhs, strikes, etc. We expect people to be sensitive towards saving life. And more than that, we require a robust healthcare system so that thousands are not left to die for want of proper medical facilities. Jacob Sahayam Thiruvananthapuram
