RComm, Loop Mobile to offer per sec billing

By fe Bureaus
The tariff war in the telecom sector has intensified with Reliance Communications (RCOM.NS : 166.6 -1.5) (RComm) coming up with two variants of pricing for short and long duration calls. Rcomm said it would offer 1paisa/second single call rate for short duration callers, while for subscribers making long duration calls, the rate will be Re 1 for 3 minutes. The company will offer 50p/minute tariff rate for those with standard call duration. The rates will come into effect from November 5, 2009, under its Simply Reliance brand. RComm is launching these plans across both its CDMA and GSM networks. Meanwhile, Loop Mobile, which operates in the Mumbai Circle only, said it would charge its customers one paisa per second for all local and STD calls. While this offer is applicable to all new and existing prepaid subscribers, existing subscribers can re-charge with Rs 48 to avail themselves of this offer.
