Bank loans grew 9.7 pct on yr to Oct. 23
MUMBAI (Reuters) - Bank loans rose 9.7 percent on year as of Oct. 23, the Reserve Bank of India's weekly statistical supplement showed on Friday.
Deposits were up 19.0 percent from a year earlier.
Outstanding loans fell by 217.50 billion rupees ($4.6 billion) to 28.69 trillion rupees in the two weeks to Oct. 23.
Non-food credit fell by 150.42 billion rupees to 28.33 trillion rupees in the two weeks, and food credit fell by 67.08 billion rupees to 360.13 billion rupees in the same period.
Bank deposits fell by 84.09 billion rupees to 41.53 trillion rupees in the two weeks to Oct. 23, the WSS showed.
