Bajaj Hindusthan to add 400 MW to power capacity

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Sugar maker Bajaj (BAJAJAUTO.NS : 2101.05 0) Hindusthan Ltd said on Wednesday its board approved expansion of power generation capacity by 400 MW to 830 MW.

It will set up 5 power plants of 80 MW each at five locations adjacent to existing sugar factories, it said in a statement to the BSE (^BSESN : 16032.11 -10.07).

The project will cost 16 billion rupees and is expected to be completed in 20 months, the statement added.
